No more tears
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Grief can make the future feel like a long corridor with no end. This verse opens a window at the end of it.
God does not promise that we will never cry. He promises that one day He Himself will wipe the tears away. Not a stranger, not a rota of helpers, but God, close enough to touch your face.
For those who belong to Christ, death is not the last word. There is a day coming when sorrow, crying and pain are simply gone, because the former things have passed away.
Until then, your tears are not a sign of weak faith. They are noticed, and they are numbered. Let this promise hold you today while you wait.
